Next, our program is comprehensive and includes Pilates, Yoga, Functional Activities, Corrective Exercise, Movement Reeducation, Principles of Natural Movement, etc…. which allows us to utilize a blended variety of exercise disciplines to make the best choices for you.

Our Story

Thrive was founded in 2005 by Clarke Tanner and Tara Cattaneo out of enthusiasm for helping people and a desire to assist others in reaching their potential. Our mission was to create a unique company that would promote health and wellness to assist our patients, clients, and team members to thrive.

How we practice and guide our clients to achieve success, has developed from years of experience, continual study, and overcoming life challenges.

Tara and Clarke, both learned to value health and to be active throughout their youth and as collegiate athletes. Shortly into Clarke’s career he experienced a back injury. This was not helpful for his work or the ability to continue to lead the active life style he valued. This experience was frustrating, at times scary, and ultimately enlightening.

The process of working back to health, gave insight on how to most effectively recover from injury, an appreciation for multiple contributing factors to a problem, established the importance of the mind-body connection, and sparked a continued desire to develop better ways to help people do what they love and thrive.

Essential components to being healthy and making progress, is understanding principles of self-development, effective strategies for goal achievement, and proven methods for achieving success.

We have integrated these concepts into our practice and the services we offer to better help our clients live healthy, active lives, and to reach their potential.

We have a positive track record and years of proven results helping people just like you. We have consistently been ranked in the top 2% nationally in outcome rankings for decreased pain, improved function, and satisfaction scores. We have had the privilege of receiving numerous honors and recognitions, including being voted Best Physical Therapy Practice in Central VA for the last 6 years.
