I chose to enter the physical therapy profession because I enjoy helping patients overcome dysfunction and pain in order to be able to return to the everyday activities that they need, as well as the recreational activities that they love. As a previously competitive and current recreational athlete, I understand the motivation to return to success in these activities, and the frustration that can result when limited by both minor and serious injuries.
Each body is like a unique puzzle. Figuring out how to put together those pieces and applying specific, effective, research-based treatments is the fun and challenging part of physical therapy. We pair these treatments with teaching patients why they are experiencing symptoms and how they will play an important role in helping to correct the problem. This empowers them to take an active role in controlling their pain and current symptoms, and allows them to partner with us to eliminate their symptoms. When this picture comes together and optimal results are achieved, our patients can truly THRIVE!
